Monti della Laga — Acquasanta Terme

The Monti della Laga (2,458 m) on the Marche-Abruzzo-Lazio border are the rainiest mountains in central Italy — sandstone rather than limestone means the water stays on the surface, feeding hundreds of streams and waterfalls. Otter has been confirmed in virtually every stream. The sulphur spas of Acquasanta Terme at the valley base (40°C water) allow a combination of mountain walk and thermal bath.
