Monterotondo Marittimo — Fumarole Walk

The geothermal area around Monterotondo Marittimo has active fumarole vents (steam and hydrogen sulfide) on the hillside above the village — freely accessible without tickets. The mineral deposits around the vents create vivid yellow sulfur and white boron formations. The area forms part of the Colline Metallifere Geopark. The fumarole hillside is also grazed by the local white Maremmana cattle.
