Monte Tre Confini (1,503 m) near Ormea where Piedmont, Liguria and France meet is a three-border summit — the ridge marks the convergence of the three territories. The flora is extraordinary: Mediterranean species (pink rock-rose, strawberry tree) meet Alpine (gentian, edelweiss) on the same slope. Chamois. Golden eagle. The descent to the sea (Imperia) is 40 km. Dogs off-leash.
