A stepped mule track climbs from Sant'Angelo in Formis through olive terraces and maquis to the 600 m ridge, passing the frescoed 11th-century basilica raised over the ancient sanctuary of Diana Tifatina, with the Volturno plain and Vesuvius laid out to the south.
