Terminillo Lower Beech Loop

Lazio

The beech forest below Monte Terminillo between 1,200 and 1,600 m is one of the finest in central Italy. The lower circuit walks through old growth with towering beeches, extensive colonies of hellebore and cyclamen, and regular roe deer sightings. Snow stays until April; the forest is at its best in October when the leaves turn gold.
