Monte Resegone (1,875 m) above Lecco is the 'sawblade' (resegone = big saw) ridge — named for its serrated profile which Manzoni described in the opening sentence of I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed, 1827). The summit gives a panorama of Lake Como, the Bergamo Alps and the Po plain. Chamois on the rocky ridge. Peregrine. The approach from Lecco via Morterone is historical. Dogs off-leash.
