Monte Ramaceto, Val Trebbia

Monte Ramaceto (1,251 m) above the Val Trebbia near Rezzoaglio is on the watershed between Ligurian and Po basin rivers. The northern (Ligurian) slope has old chestnut forest; the southern (Po) face has beech and silver fir. Golden eagle nests on the rocky outcrops. Wolf was confirmed resident in 2010. The Trebbia river below is famous as 'the world's most beautiful river' (allegedly said by Ernest Hemingway).
