Monte Prinzera's red-brown ultramafic rock supports a specialised flora of drought- and metal-tolerant plants, and small pools on its flanks hold amphibians. A loop of paths climbs from the SS62 to the twin summits, on the Via Francigena's route toward the Cisa pass, with the Parma plain and the Apennine crest in view.
