From the Presa Alta or the Lupo pass, paths climb through vast beech forest and out onto the open ridge to the 2,054 m dome of Monte Prado, an arctic-alpine flower meadow in summer. The view runs along the whole Apuane wall, the Tyrrhenian and, north, the Po plain to the Alps.
