Monte Pizzoc, Cansiglio

Monte Pizzoc (1,565 m) stands where the great beech-and-fir Cansiglio plateau breaks off toward the Venetian plain. A road climbs most of the way and a path finishes on the bare grass top by the Rheticus observatory, with the Piave valley, the lagoon, the Adriatic and, north, the Dolomites all in sight.
