This peak sits on the Umbria–Marche Apennine watershed near Nocera Umbra, its lower slopes cloaked in beech forest that opens into grassy summit pasture. A small, low-key ski area operates on the mountain in winter, while summer brings hikers drawn to the ridge's long views toward the Sibillini to the east. The area sustained damage in the 1997 and 2016 earthquakes, and some villages below still show signs of rebuilding.
