Monte Penello rises behind Pegli and Sestri Ponente, its top a smooth meadow crest at about 1,000 m. Paths climb from Acquasanta or the Colletta di Cornua through chestnut and broom to the ridge, where the whole western half of Genova and its port lie below and the view runs along the coast and back over the Polcevera valley.
