Monte Pelmo – Rifugio Venezia Trail

Locals call Pelmo the 'throne of God' for its huge, isolated bulk rising above the Zoldo and Cadore valleys. The trail up to Rifugio Venezia crosses scree fields and old moraine below sheer walls that were first climbed by Paul Grohmann in 1857, and golden eagles regularly wheel along the cliff bands above.
