Monte Peglia (835 m) between Orvieto and Todi is a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve — old-growth Turkey oak, sessile oak and hop hornbeam woodland that has never been clear-felled. Wolf confirmed. Honey buzzard and black kite breed in summer. Porcupine abundant. The summit gives views of Orvieto's tufa cliff from above. Almost entirely unknown to visitors. Dogs off-leash.
