The Rio Sa Curcurica drains the Monte Nieddu granites in one of the greenest gorges in Sardinia — alder, oleander and fern over pink slabs, and a staircase of falls and deep blue pools ("piscine") that make it a wild-swimming route in spring and early summer. A rough path climbs the valley from the Sos Rios area.
