Monte Motola, Piaggine

Motola (1,700 m) carries one of the southernmost natural stands of silver fir in Italy alongside its beech. Paths from Piaggine or the Passo della Sentinella climb through the forest to open pasture on the summit crest, looking across to the Cervati, the Alburni wall and, far off, the Tyrrhenian.
