Molise
Shared between Molise and Campania, this is the Matese range's high point, and climbing it from the Molise side via San Massimo sees far fewer hikers than the Campania trailheads. The upper slopes are open karst grassland, grazed by semi-wild horses, with views stretching to the Adriatic on very clear days.
