Monte Miletto, Campobasso

Molise

Monte Miletto (2,050 m) is the highest summit of Molise and the highest point of the Matese massif — the summit ridge gives a panorama from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic (both seas visible on clear days). Chamois reintroduced here (small herd). Golden eagle resident. The Matese plateau below has wolf. The approach from Campitello Matese (ski resort) cuts the ascent significantly. Dogs off-leash.
