Monte Menegosa

Menegosa (1,356 m) is a dark hump of ophiolite — ancient ocean-floor rock — cloaked in beech, with the little chapel of the Madonna di Menegosa on top. Paths from Pratopiano or Cassimoreno climb through the forest to the open crest, looking over the Piacenza hills to Monte Ragola and the Ligurian ridges.
