Monte Malbe
Umbria
Rising directly above Perugia's northwestern edge, this forested hill offers a quick retreat into oak and pine woodland without leaving the city behind entirely, with breaks in the canopy giving views over the Umbrian capital's rooftops and the Tiber valley beyond. A dense network of trails, popular with trail runners and mountain bikers, laces the hillside. Small chapels and rural hamlets are scattered through the woods, remnants of a slower pre-urban past.
