Monte Livata is Rome's closest real mountain plateau — black pine plantations, natural beech and wide grazing meadows around 1,300–1,700 m. From Campo dell'Osso or Monna dell'Orso easy trails cross the Campo Secco and Campo dell'Osso basins toward Monte Autore, and the great Benedictine monasteries of Subiaco sit just below.
