Monte La Caramola, San Severino Lucano

La Caramola (1,521 m) rises between the Frido and Sarmento valleys, its slopes cloaked in beech, silver fir and scattered Bosnian pine — the lower ones protected as a WWF oasis. A forest road and paths climb from Bosco Favino to the open top, from where the Pollino massif fills the southern sky.
