Molise
Monte il Colle (1,872 m) is the highest point accessible from the Molise side of the Matese massif. The Campitello Matese ski resort on the Campania side brings tourists there, but the Molise approach from Bojano is completely solitary. Wild cat, wolf and Apennine chamois are all present. The summit panorama crosses Abruzzo, Campania and Puglia.
