From San Polo dei Cavalieri or the Prato Favale car park, paths climb through beech and then the broad Pratone di Monte Gennaro — a tilted karst meadow — to the 1,271 m top. On a clear day the view runs from the Tyrrhenian and Rome across to the snows of the Gran Sasso.
