Monte Generoso (1,701 m) on the Swiss-Italian border above Lugano has one of the finest panoramas in the Alps — all five Lombard lakes (Como, Lugano, Maggiore, Iseo, Garda) visible simultaneously. The summit building (Fiore di Pietra) was designed by Mario Botta (2017). The rack railway from Capolago (Switzerland) reaches the summit. Golden eagle. Chamois. Dogs on leash on the summit plateau.
