Monte Falco (1,657 m) on the Apennine ridge between Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany is the highest point of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park. The summit ridge gives views to the Adriatic and to the Tyrrhenian. Wolf pack resident. Golden eagle and goshawk. Red deer rut in October. The old-growth beech below the summit has trees over 400 years old. Dogs off-leash.
