Monte Emilius (3,559 m) dominates the Aosta Valley skyline above the city — the long southeast ridge from Plan Felinaz (cable car) gives a full mountain experience without glacier travel. The summit panorama runs from Mont Blanc in the west to Monte Rosa in the east with the Gran Paradiso massif to the south. Ibex on the upper ridge. Chough colony at the summit. Dogs off-leash on the trail.
