Monte Cucco — Grotta del Fuso

The Grotta di Monte Cucco above Scheggia in the Apennines is the deepest cave system in central Italy — 922 m vertical depth and 30 km of passages. The entrance is at 1,390 m on the Monte Cucco ridge. The surface above the cave is a beautiful Apennine plateau with paragliding thermals. The cave can only be visited in guided groups for the deep sections.
