Monte Cucco (1,566 m) is the dominant peak of the Apennines above Gubbio, covered in vast meadows where paragliders launch and ravens soar. Directly beneath the summit, the Grotta di Monte Cucco is one of Italy's deepest cave systems at over 1,000 m depth. The views from the top take in the entire Gubbio amphitheatre.
