Monte Cucco, Parco Regionale

Monte Cucco (1,566 m) straddles the Umbria-Marche border and is famous for hang-gliding and paragliding — the reliable thermal winds from the valley below create ideal conditions. The Grotta di Monte Cucco below the summit is the deepest cave in the Apennines (922 m deep). The upper plateau is wide and grassy. Wild boar, roe deer and occasional wolf are found in the forest below.
