Rising sheer above the town of Oliena, this limestone massif's grey cliffs are a defining backdrop for the whole Barbagia region, its summit reached via a long, exposed trail through karst terrain riddled with sinkholes and caves. The mountain's slopes feed the Su Gologone spring, one of Europe's largest karst springs, at its base. Golden eagles nest on the highest cliffs, and the summit offers views stretching from the Golfo di Orosei to the Gennargentu range.
