Monte Cimone, Appennino Modenese

Monte Cimone (2,165 m) near Sestola is the highest summit of the northern Apennines — a peak from which the Po plain, the Adriatic and Tuscany are all visible on clear days. Golden eagle has nested on the north face since 2009. Apennine chamois was reintroduced in 2014. The ski area below (Comprensorio Cimone) is the largest in Emilia-Romagna.
