Monte Cervati (1,899 m) is the highest peak in the Campania Apennines — the summit of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. Snow patches persist until June. Golden eagle nests on the north face cliffs. The limestone grasslands below the summit have the richest Apennine orchid flora in Campania — 40+ species. Apennine chamois from the adjacent Pollino range occasionally reach this far north.
