Monte Bracco, Barge

Monte Bracco (or Montebracco) is a long stone whaleback between Barge and Envie whose fine-grained "pietra di Luserna" quartzite was quarried for centuries — Leonardo da Vinci noted it in his notebooks. Paths climb through chestnut woods to grassy shoulders and a hermitage, with Monviso filling the western sky.
