Monte Beigua (1,287 m) above Savona is a UNESCO Global Geopark — extraordinary serpentinite rocks (ocean floor mantle thrust onto land) with a unique flora adapted to magnesium-rich soil. Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) in the summit bog. The spring raptor migration viewpoint at Passo del Faiallo counts thousands of honey buzzard, osprey and marsh harrier in April-May. Golden eagle resident. Dogs off-leash.
