Riserva Pian di Spagna, Como

Lombardy

The Riserva Naturale Pian di Spagna at the northern tip of Lake Como is where the Adda and Mera rivers enter the lake — a delta wetland with black stork in spring migration (one of the most reliable Italian sites), kingfisher, great white egret and purple heron. The reed bed is the largest on Lake Como. The Lago di Mezzola above is a Ramsar wetland. Dogs on leash in the reserve.
