The Majella's summit is a bare limestone desert of dolines and rock pavement, reached by long routes from Passo San Leonardo, the Blockhaus or Fara San Martino's gorge. The Bivacco Pelino, a red half-cylinder, marks the top and the huge view over Abruzzo to both seas.
