Monte Alpi

Basilicata

Rising sharply above the Sinni valley near Latronico, this isolated limestone massif is protected within the Appennino Lucano-Val d'Agri-Lagonegrese park and remains one of the least-visited peaks in the region. Beech forest gives way to bare rock and dwarf juniper near the summit ridge, with wolves confirmed present in recent monitoring surveys. The summit offers a rare 360-degree view spanning both the Tyrrhenian and Ionian watersheds.
