Monte Adone & Contrafforte Pliocenico

The Contrafforte Pliocenico is a wall of golden Pliocene sandstone thrown up along the Setta and Savena valleys. Monte Adone (654 m) is its crown — a fin of rock honeycombed with old hermit cells, with peregrines and eagle owls on the faces and a view over the Bologna hills to the plain and the Alps.
