Monte Acuto

Monte Acuto rises abruptly above Sassoferrato, its beech-forested lower slopes giving way to an open, genuinely pointed summit that lives up to its name ('sharp mountain'). On clear days the Adriatic coastline is visible to the east beyond the softer pre-Apennine ridges. The trail is steep enough to feel like a proper climb without technical difficulty.
