Monte Nock, Alta Via di Merano

Trentino-Alto Adige

The Alta Via di Merano traces the southern edge of the Ötztal Alps above Merano in a 100 km circuit. The section above Monte Nock (2,431 m) gives the finest views — the entire Val Venosta (Vinschgau) below, with the Ötztal glaciers to the north and the Ortles massif to the south. The path follows ancient shepherd routes on terraced rocky flanks. Chamois regularly seen.
