Langa Astigiana — Vigne e Borghi

The Langa Astigiana east of Asti is the quieter, less touristy counterpart to the Langhe. Its rolling hills produce Barbera d'Asti DOCG and Freisa wines on slopes covered in truffle oaks (Quercus pubescens). Walking paths connect small Romanesque churches and borghi. In autumn the vine leaves turn gold and the white truffle season begins — dogs are essential for truffle hunting.
