Monte Cammarata (1,578 m) near Santo Stefano Quisquina in the Sicilian hinterland is the highest limestone peak in central Sicily. The beech forest (bosco della Ficuzza annex) at 1,200 m is old-growth. Golden eagle has 2 pairs on the massif. The summit panorama extends from the Tyrrhenian to the Mediterranean and on clear days to Tunisia (240 km). Wolf arrived in Sicily in 2023 and may use this massif.
