Lago Vivo, Parco d'Abruzzo

Abruzzo

From the Barrea–Villetta road a beech-wood path climbs to a broad grassy hollow holding Lago Vivo, full and reflective in late spring, shrunk to a marsh by late summer. Red deer come to graze at dusk and the ridge beyond looks into the wildest part of the park.
