Lago del Segrino (317 m) near Cantù is a small (33 ha) moraine lake with no motorised boats — entirely quiet. Great crested grebe and little grebe breed. The water is clear enough for swimming in summer. The 4 km circuit is flat and passes through old hornbeam and oak forest. Dragonflies are abundant in summer — 20+ species. One of the most tranquil lake escapes near Milan.
