Lago Santo Parmense
Emilia-Romagna
This lake near Corniglio sits at nearly 1500m in a bowl gouged by Ice Age glaciers, part of the Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano that straddles the Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany border. Beech forest climbs steeply around it, and the trail up from the valley passes waterfalls and rocky outcrops before opening onto the lake's quiet, clear water.
