Lago Pistono (215 m) is the smallest of the five moraine lakes in the amphitheatre of glacial moraines (anfiteatro morenico di Ivrea) — one of the best-preserved glacial moraine systems in Europe. The lake is warm and shallow — perfect for swimming. Great crested grebe and little grebe breed. The surrounding moraine hills have vineyards producing the little-known Canavese DOC wine.
