Lago delle Golette, Valtournenche
Aosta Valley
The Laghi delle Golette sit at 2,310 m in a cirque directly below the Italian face of the Matterhorn (Cervino). The lakes are rarely visited despite being only 3 hours from Breuil-Cervinia — most tourists use the cable cars above. The lakes reflect the pyramid of the Matterhorn from early morning. Steinbock are frequently seen on the surrounding rocky ridges.
