Lago di Suviana, Appennino Bolognese

Emilia-Romagna

Lago di Suviana and the adjacent Lago di Brasimone form a twin reservoir landscape at 480 m in the Bologna Apennines. Osprey fish both lakes in autumn migration; deer regularly swim across the narrower Brasimone. The access from Bargi passes through old chestnut forest. The lake shore has several natural beaches suitable for swimming in summer. Kingfisher is resident year-round on both lakes.
