A dirt road (walkable, sometimes drivable) climbs from the stone hamlet of Rochemolles to the dam and its long green lake at 1,970 m, ringed by larch and the peaks of the Bacini and the Rognosa. The path continues to the Rifugio Scarfiotti and, for the strong, over the Colle della Rho toward the Mont Thabor.
